Make Us Dangerous

I hate to post two quotes in a row, but this one really just hit me so hard when I read it (HT: Hannah.) Isn’t so amazing how we are so meek and mild when it comes to our faith? Isn’t it amazing how silent we become when it comes to the gospel which we so gloriously proclaim on Sunday morning? Think about this:

“We are so utterly ordinary….We are spiritual pacifists, non-militants, conscientious objectors in this battle-to-the-death with principalities and powers in high places. Meekness must be had for contact with men, but brass, outspoken boldness is required to take part in the comradeship of the Cross…… The world cannot hate us, we are too much like its own. Oh that God would make us dangerous!”

Amen! Let us aspire to that same self-sacrificial faith that led Jim and other four men into the jungles of Ecuador to share the Gospel for the love of Christ.

Agreed! I think a lot of times we become too afraid of what people think that we become pacifist in our Christian walk and forget that we are at war with principalities and powers. Complacency is not an option.
